The Orphanages

There are Seven Orphanages located throughout Bali. In those seven caring, nurturing homes children from desperately poor circumstances are nurtured and grown into fine, self-sufficient members of the Balinese society.

Widhya Asih Orphanage VI

Located in Bangli, about one hour from the capital city of Denpasar, this facility is in by far the worst condition of the seven orphanages in the system.  A relatively small facility, this orphanage houses approximately 35 children ranging in age from 8 to 18.  As a practical matter, this facility should be relocated and expanded. Important needs at this location include:

  • Relocate the orphanage and build a new facility ($90,000)
  • Upgrade the dormitory rooms to sanitary standards ($9,500)
  • Upgrade the kitchen to sanitary standards ($2,000)
