The Orphanages

There are Seven Orphanages located throughout Bali. In those seven caring, nurturing homes children from desperately poor circumstances are nurtured and grown into fine, self-sufficient members of the Balinese society.

Widhya Asih Orphanage V

Orphanage V, largest in the system, is located in Melaya, also in the far west of Bali and relatively close to Orphanage II in Blimbingsari.  This orphanage houses approximately 120 children ranging in age from 12 to 18.  Also, four of the children here are attending university.  Important needs at this location include:

  • Expand the livestock and farming business ($4,000)
  • Begin a brick making business ($1,500)
  • Fix the machine for making animal food and create a business with it ($1,500)
  • Upgrade the kitchen facilities ($2,000)
