The Orphanages

There are Seven Orphanages located throughout Bali. In those seven caring, nurturing homes children from desperately poor circumstances are nurtured and grown into fine, self-sufficient members of the Balinese society.

Widhya Asih Orphanage II

Located in Blimbingsari, an agricultural area in the far west of Bali, this orphanage houses approximately 75 children mostly in elementary school with just a few traveling some distance to go to junior high.  Attending junior and senior high school requires that these children relocate to another orphanage, commonly V in Melaya, IV in Untal-Untal, and III in Singaraja.  Important needs at this location include:

  • Create a professional site plan to assist with the future site development ($1,000)
  • Fence the entire property for safety and security ($15,000)
  • Build a multi-purpose building ($25,000)
  • Renovate the boys' dormitory, including a new roof ($7,000)
  • Build a new kitchen with good hygiene ($15,000)
  • Begin a farming and livestock business ($9,500)
  • Expand the facility to house another 16 children ($6,200)
