About Bill & Pat

We are simply a couple of relatively normal people living in Edmonds, WA (about 15 miles north of Seatle) who found a need in Bali and felt called to do what we could to assist these children break the cycle of poverty into which they were born.

Bill is a semi-retired management consultant.  Pat is a homemaker who has recently retired from part time work in the retail industry in our local community.  At this stage of our lives we have both the time and the energy to devote to this service.

Among other things, we actively enjoy baseball (season ticket holders for the Mariners), gardening, traveling (in our motor home, by Amtrak, and elsewhere in the world), family, and volunteering to serve the needs of others where we are clearly able to make a difference.

On a holiday trip to Bali in 2005 we were introduced to the Widhya Asih Orphanage IV in Untal-Untal by our friends Greg Tamblyn, Jana Stanfield, and Marne Keller-Krikava.  Taken with the need for assistance, we agreed to sponsor two girls. Upon returning to Bali the following year we became aware of how many girls were still without sponsors and agreed to arrange (with the help of family and friends) sponsorships for an additional eight girls.  At this point we were hooked.  We now travel to Bali at least once each year and have expanded our service work to include arranging sponsorships for all 70 girls at the Untal-Untal orphanage along with seeking new ways to assist the entire Widhya Asih Foundation, now led by our good friend... and outstanding individual, Nengah Swikrama.
